Man, woman, and the family

There are millions upon millions of organizations in our world.
Some are as big as the Chinese government, the Catholic Church, or General Electric; some are very small like the local pub. One thing is common to all of them:
Each one is headed by one single person, male or female!
What about the most common type of organization in the world – the human family? Can it be managed successfully and satisfactorily by two persons- a man and a woman?

When someone wants to become a washing machines repair technician, he must learn the trade, pass a test, and get a license. What about when a man and a woman want to get married? To start a business to last a life time, to be responsible for the well being of several human beings for decades; should they not "learn the trade", pass an examination, and get a license?
When you apply to study medicine, you are obliged to appear in front of a committee who will decide if you are fit to be a physician; and what about your personality qualifications to start a family? May be you are not fit to be married, or fit to be married but not to raise children?

What about a single parent family? Is it a healthy environment to raise children?
And homosexual or lesbian couples ? Can society leave these decisions in the hands of the parents to be?
